when using XML specs, the specGenerateOnDemand flag under [JDBj-RUNTIME PROPERTIES] is ignored and is always on. 812 with 896 is the starting combination for an XML specs based system.
Suppose you are using 897 with 811, it is not xml specs based environment.So the state of specGenerateOnDemand is decided by its value in JDBj.ini file
